Pictures are up..

The professional pictures are up. Go to www.roppop.com and then click the link for "photo store". You'll see a link for Fantastic Sams style awards. Click on it and it'll ask you for a password or code and that is: fansam. Click submit and it'll take you to all the thumbnail photos. There's a bunch of photos of a guy and then a girl and then you'll get to me. I really should've worn a different blouse than the one she gave me but hey, I just wanted to make her happy. I just ordered a few of the better pictures so maybe I could make copies and send them out.

The photo shoot

Here's my evil possessed look

I have a lot of makeup on...I almost don't want to take it off but it feels a bit uncomfortable to have this much on and plus, I don't know if I want to go out in public like that...
Side shot of my hairstyle.
My attempt at doing a back shot...

The professional pictures should be up on his website either by Monday or Tuesday. We're going to print some off and then pass them out. If you're lucky enough, you might just get to see the actual professional ones ;)...

So, I went to the salon this morning with my salmon colored button up shirt and the girl, more or less, said she didn't want me to wear it. She had a shirt for me. I went into the bathroom to try it on and it was REALLY tight...good thing I have lost weight or else it would've looked 10 times as bad... Anyway, so I came out of the bathroom and she (unfortunately) said she liked it and it looked good. I should've worn my black button up blouse had I thought about it. I would've felt much more comfortable in it. Luckily, the pictures are only headshots. The funny thing is that she said, "I'm sorry you're uncomfortable..." but she didn't make any offers to let me change. Oh well. I think the pictures are going to turn out fine because I got to look at them and they looked really good. The only bad thing was that since the shirt was pretty tight around the shoulders, it didn't flatter my arms too much. So whenever there were shots where the tops of my arms showed, they looked a little squeezed. I really like how she did my hair and makeup. It's really rockstar and I don't do that myself at all so it's just nice to let someone else do your hair and makeup and be a little creative.

Random-"ocity" because I'm bored...

Things I'm looking forward to currently:

My Fantastic Sams photo shoot...I will get pictures as soon as they are put on the photographer's website.

Kyle switching to dayshift because nightshift STINKS!

Tiger's 1 yr "birthday" in May/June because we don't know exactly when he was born but we know it was about then.

My trip to Indiana for Libby's wedding because I need to see those people over there :)

Summer vacation away from school

Our trip to GA for Shelly's wedding because we're a bit homesick at this point and are needing some social interaction from familiar and comfortable faces...

Starting my Master's degree in the Fall!

Beautiful Day

It's a gorgeous sunny day out today! I just got done mowing the lawn and I bought 2 birdfeeders and placed them strategically so that Tiger can see them out the window. I can't wait until the birds notice we've got food! Can't wait to watch Tiger enjoy the bird company! Now all I need to do is get out there and take out unwanted plants in the backyard--the only problem is where to put it all...garbage bags aren't that great. Kinda wish we had a mulcher.

So tell me what you want, what you really really want...

One of our pictures in our guest bath...so beachy, dontcha think?
Palm tree picture, although I think I might replace it with something else palmy and put this with the other tree picture I have in the kitchen. Can't decide.
Now how did that get in here? He'll literally lie like that hinting at you to come pet his belly.
I caught him sitting like that.
It's Jabba the Hut.
Here's the seagull on the pier post and the shell candle holder. The candle is the scent called "Sun and Sand". Most appropriate. This is also in the guest bath.
I love this lighthouse decoration! Now I just have to paint the guest bath. I've got several shades of blue in mind: either Sunwashed blue, Skysail blue, or Ocean Ridge. I don't want the bathroom to look just like the office but it just might. All of these blues kind of have a different hue than the office so they may not look just like it. Either way, I think the next room to paint is the guest bath. It's gonna be an easy paint I think because the room isn't that big so it shouldn't take too long, hopefully. Now I just gotta get my motivation up.
Nothing much new has been happening here with us. I'm just counting the days down until summer vacation. Yesterday was interesting. I kept putting my foot in my mouth throughout the day. The girl that took Tom's spot (another Title I tutor that left on Friday for another higher paying job--which seems to be the trend around here) is the one I told ya'll about earlier that lost her baby the week before her due date (such a tragedy). She broke down crying yesterday morning and I'm guessing it was just another emotional relapse of what she had lost and the other title I ladies went to console her. I didn't know what to do or say so I just stayed sitting in my chair kind of at a loss for words. Later that morning, I sat next to her when I had a chance and just checked in with her and made sure she was okay. What does another person say to one who has just lost a baby? I don't know and it just made things worse as I was talking to her and I just couldn't SHUT UP! Argh...I was so frustrated with myself after that.
The next thing was when I said happy birthday to a teacher who's turning 50 this next week and her husband and some other teachers were wanting to throw her a surprise party. They were going to start out by taking her to a restaurant/bar for drinks (and she knew about the drinks but she thought they were going for another reason). Well, as I was leaving the school, I saw her in the hallway and said, "Happy Birthday!" and gave her a hug. She said her birthday isn't til Wednesday and I would see her. I said that it was an early birthday wish. Luckily, I didn't say anything about a party but the teachers that were standing around her and me gave me that look of panic like, "Shut up now while you're ahead!" hahahaha....I felt like such an IDIOT! I just had to get out that school before I got myself into anymore trouble. Oh well, I don't think she caught on anyway. I was able to play it off pretty well I think. WHEW!
Well, guess that's about it though. Nothing much else has developed here. I just thought I'd write since I haven't written for awhile. Sorry if it wasn't as interesting. :)

I'm so flattered...

I went to get my hair cut this morning at Fantastic Sams and the girl that I like to do my hair did mine. She got almost done with my hair and said, "What do you do on Sundays?" And I said, "not much...it's usually just up in the air." She said, "well, I think your haircut is hot and you have a beautiful face so I'd really like it if you'd be in a photo shoot for Fantastic Sams." I said, "Heck yes, I'm interested!" It's all supposed to happen on April 27th in the morning but it's still not definite because now I gotta check and see if it's gonna cost anything but I don't know why it should because she asked me to be in it. They're using my face and my hair. Anyway, I'm excited to see if anything materializes.

Tiger really plays fetch!

I had discovered Tiger had a talent for playing fetch awhile ago but last night is when we actually taped it. I always buy him these little toy mice and he just LOVES them so much! He loves to carry them around the house in his mouth and he'll hoard them underneath couches and stuff. Of course, he likes to hoard a lot of things under couches because this afternoon, I even found a string cheese pack under the couch! It was a single one still wrapped up that I guess we'd left on the counter or something...hahahaha! Anyway, it's adorable.

Holy Spicy Jalapeño Chili Potato, Batman!

Tonight we had a really spicy chili baked potato for dinner. I baked a couple of potatoes via microwave and then made a chili mixture of kidney beans, onions, chili seasoning mix, ground turkey and 4 ENTIRE jalapeño peppers (yes, including ALL the seeds)! And on the side, I made sure there was some cheese and some fatfree sour cream. The sour cream helped kind of cool things down a bit but not by much. I was eating it just fine and loving every bite but then I think I got a whole slew of seeds on my tongue and YOOOOWWWZAAAAH!!! I was on FIRE! I had to quit eating it (and I should've quit eating anyway because I was quite full). I left a whole huge chunk of potato on my plate and Kyle was loving his potato also. His forehead was drenched with sweat but he couldn't get enough of it. It reminded me of my high school friend, Brian Nelson-Palmer, who kept moaning and making noises the whole time he was eating some of Mom's food...hahahahha....just because it was soooo good! I guess I'm feeding Kyle well, right? Anyways, it was great food and we SHALL make it again only with less seeds for my sake. :)

Guess what????

You're lookin' at the newest grad student at Boise State! I just got my acceptance letter to the University, so I'm not officially a part of the grad school for Bilingual/ESOL--just have to send in an official transcript from UGA now. I'm on it! The important thing is, I've already registered for my 2 classes! YAAAAAYYYY!!

Anxiously awaiting

I'm still anxiously awaiting my grad school acceptance...I really hope it comes tomorrow! :) I've been obsessing over classes because the classes that are offered aren't just offered at the main BSU campus but they're at other locations and one of them is about 2 hours away from me! AHHH!!! So, in order to snatch up a class that's offered closer, I want my registration stuff now! I want my advisor appointment now! Okay, okay...I'm a little impatient. Sorry. I'm just excited to get this show on the road and get my life started. In this process, I've done so much research into when and where these different classes are being offered and I also found out that I can probably take courses out of order if it's not offered at a location that's convenient because BSU is pretty flexible. I heard this from a current student of BSU. I've also come up with a prospective list of the classes I will take and in what order and in what semesters. I also talked to a friend of mine that's currently going through master's classes at UGA and she advised me that if I'm working full time right now, don't take more than 2 classes at a time because the workload is so much more than your regular undergrad that it'll put a strain on you mentally and physically. I'll believe her. I probably wouldn't be able to have more than 2 anyway because of schedule conflicts. I do know that I probably wouldn't do the after school literacy program next year because of these classes. Whew! Have I bugged you enough with this eagerness? Thought so.
